The Headmaster of Saboba E.P Senior High School in the Northern Region has underscored the urgent need for past students of the school to form a strong association of old students.

Abdulai Braimah Fred, observed that old students play a pivotal role in the development of their Alma mater thus, lack of an old students association in E.P SHS will not encourage old students to contribute their quota to the academic and physical development of the school.

Addressing staff, current and past students of the school on Friday March 3, 2017 in Saboba during a quiz competition put together by some past students; the Headmaster applauded the organizers for their timely initiative and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts towards the formation of an association.

Mr. Braimah also used the occasion to encourage the current students to look up to the past students who have succeeded in spite of the daunting challenges they had to go through in life and in school and still were able to sail through. He further urged them to be motivated by the successes of their past seniors and not under estimate their school because with maximum determination, they will equally succeed.

The past students have unanimously pledged to ensure the formation of a strong association that will bring all past students of the school together from home and abroad in order that they can mobilize resources to support the school in areas within their means. They have also indicated their readiness to occasionally organize educational programmes that will kindle competition among current students with the aim of improving upon academic performance.

Team Old Students

To this end, they have declared their determination to embark on a laborious membership drive and called on all past students of the school to come on board and support this noble course.

Though some efforts by some past students led to the formation the association with an interim leadership, very little  has been done to make it vibrant. However, it is hoped that the latest efforts will reinvigorate the desire of the past students and the interim leadership to make the group effective.
