I wish to congratulate all people of the Upper East Region for ending one calendar year and commencing another year. I thank God for the peace of the region and all the good things we encountered in the year 2018. The cooperation and support of you the good people of the region have helped government and the leadership of the region greatly in bringing us this far.
I share in the general expectations at this time that the New Year 2019 will bring good tidings and the full realization of goals and aspirations. God has always been our guide and He will favour us more in the New Year. We have been drawn closer to God through the Christmas celebrations, enabling us to receive more graces in the New Year.
We should therefore not let the lessons and impartation of Christmas get lost on us as we step into the New Year. God and our nation Ghana demand great sacrifices from all of us at the family, community and national levels. We are called to rededicate ourselves to our shared values and ideals of hardwork, patriotism and communal spiritism.
Government is leading in moving our country forward in the right direction. Approval has been secured by Parliament to implement government’s economic policy for the New Year to ensure a stronger economy for jobs and prosperity. An additional six new regions are also coming on board to help bring governance and development closer to the majority of Ghanaians.
Ghana demands our devotion and we should all unite and uphold her in the New Year.

Happy and prosperous New Year to all People of Upper East Region.
