Gun Men Disrupt Voter Transfer in Tamale

Unidentified gun men Thursday October 6 besieged the offices of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, where some students of the University for Development Studies (UDS) had gone to have their votes transferred.

Information available to www.topnewsghana.com has it that the action of the gun men which was aimed at preventing the students from transferring their votes left the students and staff of the commission terrified.
Apart from claims that the attackers issued threats to kill them if they go ahead to vote on December 7, the students also accused the EC of frustrating them each time they went to transfer their votes.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tettey, who confirmed the occurrence of the incident said no arrest has been made and no official report of injuries.
