Popular female Ghanaian musician known in the showbiz industry as Mzbel, has congratulated President Nana Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his campaign promise of free senior high school education.
Mzbel, known in private life as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, was an ardent critic of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its then presidential candidate, Nana Addo in the run-up to the 2016 elections. She was also seen on the campaign platforms of the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
However, Mzbel on Monday September 11, 2017, after securing admission for her son at the Achimota Senior High School in Accra, wrote on her Facebook page congratulating Nana Addo for implementing Free SHS policy.
“Free education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo! Hahaaa Nana well done oo!! Onto the next deal… One Corner One Dancer! Inshallah.”
The free SHS policy is aimed at absorbing all approved fees currently charged to students in public second cycle Institutions. So far, over 310,000 BECE graduates are benefiting from the policy across the country.
