DCE interacts with traders at Zuarungu market

In line with his commitment to run a people driven assembly, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bolgatanga East in the Upper East Region, Rev. Emmanuel Abugre Abole, on Thursday made a stop-over at the Zuarungu Community market to interact with traders.

The visit was aimed at getting firsthand information and to acquaint himself with the happenings at the market-square; all in the bid to improve economic activities in the district.

Interacting with the traders, Rev. Abole observed that despite the enormous economic potentials of the Zuarungu market, business activities there have been at a snail’s pace; making traders lament over poor sales.

The DCE disclosed that he had scheduled a meeting with the Paramount chief of the Zuarungu Traditional area. He hinted that their agenda is to stringently consider matters related to enhancing the Zuarungu market.

He however expressed concern over the difference in the original drawing of the market structure and what has actually been constructed and passed for use, adding that the project is not completed as per the original plan.

The DCE assured the traders of his readiness to partner with them for an improved market.

The traders on their part expressed gratitude to the DCE for calling on them. They further pledged to corporate with the assembly in finding the best possible ways to help address their challenges.
