The Converted Christian Ministry International Church of Ghana at the weekend organised fun games at the Ramsey Sports Stadium in Bolgatanga, the capital of the Upper East Region as part of activities marking the church’s “Oil of Double Grace” programme for 2017.
The games brought together all the districts of the church in the Upper East Region and other satellite branches to socialize and maintain a healthy body while socialising in Christ.
The districts were divided into two zones and competed in women volleyball, men football and women Tug of peace.
At the end of the football match, zone one beat their zone two counterparts 2-1. In the women volleyball, zone one lost 2 straight to zone two, whilst the men drew 1-1.
In the Tug of Peace, Bolgatanga women won against Walewale women in the first set but lost the second set to Navrongo women.
At the end of the one day event, the General Overseer of Converted Christian Ministry International Church of Ghana, Bishop Samuel Aziz Danladi, said the event formed part of activities marking the 5th anniversary of the church “Oil of Double Grace” programme.
He said the games were introduced this year because it is very important and also helps the mind to reset and also revitalise while at same time, affording members the opportunity to exercise for a sound mind and body.
Bishop Danladi advised members of the church to exercise regularly since exercise helps prevent sicknesses and keep the body physically strong and healthy.
The games did not only attract church members, but many from nearby communities, also stopped by to catch a glimpse of the event.
A health walk, led by the General Overseer preceded the games and attracted over thousand of people walking through the principal streets of the Bolgatanga.
