Coal Tanker Catches Fire on Saboba-Yendi Road

Fire on Sunday reduced a tanker carrying coal into ashes at a construction site on the Saboba-Yendi. The coal was been prepared for construction works on that road when the accident occurred.

The incident occurred at Kunkonon, a village on the Saboba-Yendi road between 8:00am and 9:00am. Passers-by and construction workers looked on helplessly as thick smoke spewed into the atmosphere.

An eye witness, Abubakari Adam, who spoke to TopNew’s Licho Mathias said the vehicle caught fire when the men at work were heating the coal product for use.

On-lookers at the accident scene

According to him, before some personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service from Yendi could arrive at the scene, the tanker had burnt to ashes.

All efforts by TopNews Ghana to reach the foreman supervising the construction proved futile.

No casualties were recorded.
